Great Britain 2019 Application 

Join up to 14 fellow 4-H members from Maryland along with University of Maryland Extension Faculty members on a two week agricultural focused educational tour of Great Britain. Expect to see historically significant sites in London and Edinburgh Scotland. The study tour will focus on learning more about trade of agricultural products, agricultural production abroad, agricultural education, agricultural marketing and agrotourism. The cost of this experience is $2,499 and includes tours of remains of historic castles as well as engagement at a local university where agriculture is taught as a vocation.

Great Britain Experience 2019 Application Deadlines & Procedures

July 11-22, 2019

  • Submit your electronic application here:online Portal(link is external)  you will need to submit both an electronic and hard copy of application
    • Complete application and essay and submit by February 15, 2019 to Ms. Carrie Wivell via the online portal and mail.
  • Feb 16-28– Interviews held by chaperones
  • March 1 – 8 – Acceptance Notifications sent
  • April 1 - $1000 deposit and trip acceptance forms dues
  • May – Family orientation and trip overview
  • June 1 - $1000 payment due
  • July 1 - $499 remaining balance due 

Application & Selection Process

4-Hers ages 15-18 interested in participating in the 2019 Great Britain experience must submit an application package to the Maryland 4-H Center by February 15, 2019.  Application packages consist of the application form, an essay, and a photograph of the 4-Her.  Download the application and trip flyer:
