We can take a page from their playbook and plan ahead too, particularly our social media marketing plan for the holiday ahead.  With the successes of BlackFriday, Cyper Monday, and sites like Amazon Prime Days, shoppers are relying more and more on digital marketing messages and on-line shopping platforms to make their seasonal and holiday purchases.  Now is the time to develop a social media marketing plan and benchmark implementation dates to capture the largest portion of market sales possible.

11/14/18: Farm Lease Agreements

A large number of farmland is leased in the Delmarva region with much of it being done on a handshake deal.  Understanding leasing laws and developing a written lease can work to improve the landlord-tenant relationship and provide record for future parties to understand what was agreed upon.  Join Paul Goeringer as he highlights many of the laws and other issues that will go into developing a farmland lease.

Genetically modified organisms, also known as GMO’s seem to constantly be in the news.  However there are a lot of misconceptions about what GMO’s are, what plants and animals have been modified, and how they are created, tested and approve for the market. This session will look at what GMO’s are, which ones are available for the market and answer some of the more common misconceptions about them.

12/19/18: Using an  LLC to Strengthen Your Farm Operation

Limited Liability Companies (LLCs) are a popular form of business entity or organization.  There are a number of ways an LLC can be used to strengthen a farming operation, including but not limited to, limiting liability, defining family ownership interests and/or transition and succession planning.  This webinar will provide you with examples of the potential pros and cons of utilizing an LLC in your farming operation and give you ideas to discuss with your individual attorney.
