The Maryland Well Water and Septic Homeowner Education Project offers two types of seminars: Keep Your Water Well and Septic Systems 101. If you’re interested in attending one of these events, check our Events Calendar. You can also contact us if you have any specific questions. We are a new program and may not be able to reach all parts of the state, but if you would like us to come to your area, please let us know and we can try to arrange a seminar.

After attending this 1-hour seminar, you will know how to maintain your well and test your drinking water. You will learn what steps you can take to maintain your private well system and when you should call the professionals. You will also learn what you should test for in your water and how often you should test.

This 1-hour seminar will provide you with a better understanding of your septic system, how it works, and what you need to do to keep it operating properly. You will also learn about newer technology that more effectively removes pollutants and the county incentive programs that can help you finance these units.
