In 2010-2011 EFNEP Youth Educators delivered nutrition education programs to 7,757 youth in 8 Maryland counties and the city of Baltimore.
EFNEP Youth Message

- Read Labels
- Eat Five Fruits and Vegetables each day
- Drink water, 1% milk or skim milk, 100% juice
- Juice drinks and soda are 'sometimes foods'
As a result of participating in EFNEP
- 30% of 3,975 youth from 103 groups now eat a variety of foods;
- 42% of 5,245 youth from 141 groups increased knowledge of the essentials of human nutrition;
- 9% of 2,723 youth from 89 groups increased their ability to select low-cost, nutritious foods;
- 22% of 3,647 youth from 116 groups improved practices in food preparation and safety.
