Maryland Beef Webinar Series March - December

The University of Maryland Extension beef team will be offering Maryland Beef Webinar Series.  It is a recurring event held from 7:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. on the second Tuesday of each month.  During each session, learn about timely topics related to raising beef cattle.  While the webinars are free, registration is required.

Beef Short Course

Series I: Fundamentals of Beef Cattle Production

 

Series I: This two-day introductory workshop covers many areas of the beef cattle industry in both a classroom and hands-on environment. The experience is designed as an introduction course for beginners, as well as a refresher for more experienced cattle producers.

Topic areas that will be covered include: Determining Daily Operating Costs and Budgets, Understanding EPD's, Animal Health and the Veterinary Feed Directive, Body Condition Scoring, Nutrition, Forage Sampling and Storage, Pasture Management and Paddock Development.

To participate in the Maryland Beef Producer's Short-Course Series I - Cost $75, the workshop is open to the first 40 registrations.

Farm Stress Management

University of Maryland Extension will host a series of Farm Stress Management Workshops for Agriculture Service Providers.

This workshop is designed for Agriculture Service Providers to equip them with the skills and knowledge to support farms and farm families in times of distress. The University of Maryland Extension Farm Stress Management Team will train service providers to identify signs of distress, develop skills to communicate with those experiencing stress, and provide resources both locally and nationally. Financial and regulatory topics will also be discussed as they are often contributors to stress on the farm.
