Rolling Clovers April Meeting

Clovers of the Rolling Clovers 4-H Club enjoyed making dog treats as part of their program at the Humane Society of Carroll County on April 4.

Rolling Clovers 4-H Club members enjoyed a tour of the Carroll County Humane Society on April 4. A talk and tour was conducted by Charles Brown, director at Humane Society. The tour and talk was part of the monthly meeting.

The meeting was called to order by the vice-president, Gaby Hockensmith Reports were given by Marissa Roberts, Jordan Lawrence and Sandra Stonesifer

Marissa Roberts received Intermediate Champion for her Guernsey record book in the state Colored Breeds Judging.

Those recognized at the County 4-H Achievement Program on April 8 and their recognition are as follows:

  • Alumni - Tori Fromm, Ryan Hevner and Andy Stonesifer
  • Wyatt Kahler - Poultry project medal
  • Jordan Lawrence - Foods project medal
  • Autumn Lippy - Crafts, Foods, Breeding goats, photography project medals
  • Marissa Roberts - Crafts, flower gardening,Home Environment, photography and foods project medals
  • Ben Schildwachter - Archery,crafts, foods, Small engines project medals
  • Emily Schildwachter-Foods project medal
  • Jacquelyn Slade - Photography project medal
  • Allison Stoner - Swine-market and horse project medal
  • Austin - swine market project medal
  • Ben Schildwachter - level 1 Diamond Clover report completed
  • Emily Schildwacter and Jacquelyn Slade Level 4 Diamond Clover report completed
  • Autumn Lippy’s Senior Portfolio was sent to state and she interviewed for an out of state trip.

The club’s Achievement Program will be May 2,7Pm at Baust Church Parish Hall. All clovers and members will be participating in the program and should bring their 2015 project work.

Allison Stoner, Autumn Lippy, Justin Shaffer and Emily and Ben Schildwachter participated in a program on April 5 at Taneytown Library about 4-H and the community. Each showed and told of project work from one of their projects.

The club will have 2 fundraisers in the next month. Club members are taking orders for subs and sandwiches. Orders are due May 2, final date is May 9. Pick up is May 19 from 4-6Pm at Baust Church Parish Hall. Club members will man a bake sale on Sat. May 7 from 9AM - 12PM at Kennie’s Market.

A Make it Take it Craft will be led by members of the club for Children’s Day at the Carroll County Fair on Aug. 3.

The next Business meeting will be May 2, 6:30Pm at Baust Church Parish Hall.
