Located at Broome’s Island on the Patuxent River, Andy and Jill Buck operate this successful business with a range of seafood. Their oyster grounds are nearby and include both submerged land for spat on shell bottom culture as well as a water column lease that uses bottom cages for cultchless oyster production. Located in proximity to major population areas like Washington, DC, they have a wide range of customers and deliver to other outlets. A processing facility provides shucked oysters for cooking. Andy is the current Chairman of Maryland’s Aquaculture Coordinating Council.
