Fine Feathered Friends June Meeting

The June meeting of the Fine Feathered Friends 4-H club was held on Monday, June 22, 2015 at the Carroll County Extension office.

Noah Lawrence gave an update on Children’s Day and there is a possibility of doing the plastic egg maracas again this year. Ms. Julie Fisher is organizing the silent auction items that we are donating. Some things were brought to the meeting for her pick up. We might participate in the Hampstead Volunteer Fireman's Parade, but we are waiting on more information. We discussed the Fill a Bag fundraiser and decided to wait until after the fair to make complete decisions about it. We welcomed Mary Fisher, Alec, Mikayla, and Will Britz, and Caelyn Ruiz as new members to the club. The Kelly Hale memorial fund will be an award, given to the senior first place winner in reasons at the state fair Poultry Judging contest. This will be to honor and remember Kelly Hale who was a Poultry Judging coach for the Carroll County fair. Ms. Nancy Carlisle announced the first poultry barn clean-up, which will be Saturday, June 27th.  As a club we decided to subscribe to the Poultry Press for one year. Caelyn Ruiz gave a short show and tell of her new splash chicks. We ended with a short meeting with Callie Miller as chair and Alexis Dickson as co-chair, to come up with designs for the booth and banner.

Our next meeting will be July 27th at 7:00 PM, at the Extension office.
