Healthy Homes Demonstration Tour

What:  Take a tour of the 'Healthy Home' demonstration in a UMD apartment.Check out interactive displays, local resources and research, and give-a-ways! 

Why:   Learn about home environmental hazards, health effects, & how to reduce harm. Identify collaborative opportunities and resources. Topics covered: asthma, mold/moisture, lead, drinking water, radon, carbon monoxide, asbestos, injuries, and hazardous household products.         

Who:   Anyone interested in learning how to make their home healthier or sharing related resources and activities! Renters and homeowners; People working in the home environmental health field, with children, or the elderly; Researchers and educators in related fields  

When: CANCELLED DUE TO WEATHER:Wednesday, January 22, 2014

           OPEN AS SCHEDULED: Thursday, January 23, 2014

           11 am - 1pm & 4-6 pm

           Tours are approximately 15-30 minutes

 Where: Leonardtown Community, Building 249, Apartment 2

            University of Maryland College Park

            Parking is free in designated lots

How:   This event is FREE and open to everyone but registration is strongly suggested due      to limited space. Please register by Tuesday, January 21, 2014. Contact UME's Health Smart--Healthy Homes Program Coordinator, Kate Manchisi, or 585-576-5532, to register or for more information.
