Description/Notes:

Are you looking to buy and use restricted-use pesticides?

If so, you will need to become a pesticide private applicator certified by Maryland Department of Agriculture (MDA). Attend this class to learn about the basics of safe pesticide application and to prepare for the private applicator certification exam that is administered by MDA. (You must pass the exam to become a certified applicator. The exam will be held at 9:00 a.m. on October 31 at the Harford County Extension Office.)

There is no cost to attend, but registration in advance is requested to assist with program planning. To reserve your spot, call the Extension Office at 410-638-3255 or e-mail Sara at sbh@umd.edu with your full name and phone number. All participants will be provided with study materials and a practice exam.

This class and exam will satisfy requirements for Maryland Private Applicator certification, which entitles you to buy and use restricted-use pesticides on your own property. If you apply pesticides for others or for hire, you need to obtain a Commercial Applicator certification.
