The H2O Summit is a free, annual event celebrating water and our actions to keep it clean. The Summit features educational workshops throughout the day and a fun-filled, family-friendly green expo and festival in the afternoon, providing you with the knowledge to make water conscious decisions and tools that you can use in your own backyard to help our local streams.

The morning sessions introduce you and your family to the local watersheds, focusing on improvement activities occurring in the county, environmental volunteerism and community involvement. Registration is requested for those interested in attending the morning session (due to space limitations).

From 1 to 4 p.m, live music, hands-on activities about the environment and over 40 green vendors are featured in the afternoon festival & expo.  Mini-workshops on gardening, trees, Montgomery County FrogWatch and permaculture are open to everyone.  Celebrity master of ceremonies Matthew Logan, Potomac Riverkeeper; Fred Tutman, Patuxent Riverkeeper; and Jim Foster, Anacostia Watershed Society President will provide tips for helping the environment.

Who’s Invited?

Everyone! The morning portion is targeted toward high school age and above, while the festival and expo are for all ages. Families are encouraged to attend in the afternoon, when there will be plenty of interactive activities, music, and mini-workshops.  Be sure to pick up a festival passport so you can participate in the afternoon H2O game.

Why Should My Family Attend the H2O Summit?
