4-H Top Chef

Have you watched the Food Network??  Our 4-Hers shine at the Maryland State Fair preparing a favorite recipe for the crowd at the Fair watching the 4-H Top Chef Contest!!

Two contests were held this year during State Fair.  On Saturday, August 30th  Kaitlyn Davey – Carroll County was Senior Champion with her Egg & Vegetable Trifle, Kale Salad and Watermelon Drink.   Lynn Thomas was Intermediate Champion with her Egg Fritatta and Ethan Latcher from Cecil County received a Red Ribbon for his Baltimore’s Favorite Bread.  Then again on Labor Day 4-Hers brought all their supplies and ingredients to prepare their Top Chef creations. Jessa Owens, Washington County received Junior Champion for her winning Gluten Free Coconut Spice Muffins.  Sophie Anderson, St. Mary’s County won a Blue Ribbon for her Spinach, Ham and Cheddar Quiche.  Jonathon Minter, Harford County created a De-Constructed Apple Pie winning a Red Ribbon. Veggie, Ham and Cheese Omelet made by Kira Murphy, Harford County won a Top Chef Blue Ribbon.

Congratulations to each 4-Her for sharing your talent in food preparation, food safety and your poise and confidence as you prepared your Top Chef recipe!
