Holiday Party/Monthly Meeting Location

Our holiday party in December and most monthly general membership meetings, except for the June meeting and picnic, are held in the Heritage building on the Montgomery County Fairgrounds. The building is on Pin Oak Street, but there is no street sign. Pin Oak Street is shown on the map below.  General membership meetings begin at 10:00 AM.

From Bethesda, Silver Spring, Rockville there are two sets of directions below. One relies on 355 (Rockville Pike) while the other relies on 270.

Using 355, take Maryland route 355 in Gaithersburg, and turn west onto Chestnut Street. Go about one eighth of a mile and turn right onto Pin Oak St. which runs parallel to the railroad tracks, along the east side of the tracks. Coming from 355, Pin Oak St is the first right turn before you cross the railroad tracks. There is NOT a street sign. Go about 1/10 of a mile, and you’ll come to the Heritage building which is on this road. The hall is not labeled, and it doesn’t have a number, but the way to identify the building is by its circular driveway.

Using 270 from Southern Montgomery County

Take I-270 north toward Gaithersburg. Take Exit 10 (MD-117/Clopper Rd./W. Diamond Ave.) toward MD-124 S./Quince Orchard Rd. At the end of the exit ramp, turn LEFT onto W. Diamond Ave/MD-117. After about 0.5 mi., turn LEFT onto Meem Ave. At the first stop sign, turn RIGHT onto Chestnut St. Immediately after crossing the railroad tracks, turn LEFT into the Fairgrounds. The Heritage building is straight ahead on the right. You can identify the building by its circular driveway

From northern parts of Montgomery County - Take I-270 south to Exit 11 (Montgomery Village Ave./Quince Orchard Rd.). At the traffic light, turn LEFT onto Montgomery Village Ave. At the second traffic light, turn RIGHT onto Rt. 355 south. After about 0.8 mi., turn RIGHT onto Chestnut St. Go straight through the traffic light. Just before the railroad tracks, turn RIGHT into the Fairgrounds. The Heritage building is straight ahead on the right. You can identify the building by its circular driveway.

Parking is available on both sides of Pin Oak Street and behind the Heritage building on Maple Ave. Please do not park on the grass between Heritage and the Administrative building.

Here's a map that can help you reach the Heritage building on the Fairgrounds. Note that Pin Oak Street is the purple line between the railroad tracks and North Frederick Ave (355). Pin Oak runs parallel to both of them. The Heritage building is also marked on the map.
