Perhaps your children want to join 4-H? Are you seeking to strengthen your family, improve your money management skills or to be a better informed consumer?

Look No Further
Maryland Cooperative Extension (MCE), Washington County, is a unique educational organization. The mission of MCE is to "educate citizens to apply practical, research-based knowledge to critical issues facing individuals, communities, the state and our global partners."

MCE is a statewide, informal education system with financial and subject matter support from University of Maryland College Park and the University of Maryland Eastern Shore , the Washington County Government and the U.S. Department of Agriculture. Maryland Cooperative Extension is administered through the College of Agriculture and Natural Resources (AGNR) in College Park. We have access to many of the University of Maryland's resources as well as campuses within the system which support our county faculty and staff with the latest research, information and technology.

Washington County Cooperative Extension serves as a catalyst to stimulate learning for positive change, educating diverse audiences throughout Washington County in four critical areas:

Agriculture, Horticulture & Natural Resources
Diet, Nutrition & Health
Youth & Organization Leadership and Development
Family Financial Management.

The latest information in these areas is offered to county residents through workshops, seminars, classes, clinics, newsletters, small group and individual consultation, and media efforts. Please give us a call if you would like more information on resources available or programs offered by our local Extension staff.
