MCE Agriculture Nutrient Management Program

The Maryland Cooperative Extension's AgriculturalNutrient Management Program is a component of the University ofMaryland's College of Agriculture and Natural Resources NutrientManagement Programs and focuses on reducing the pollution of theChesapeake Bay by plant nutrients from cropland.

The Program provides nutrient planning services toMaryland farmers via a network of nutrient management advisorslocated in all county Extension offices and provides continuingeducation and technical support to certified nutrient managementconsultants via state and regional nutrient managementspecialists.

WMREC houses two faculty members of the Nutrient ManagementProgram. LiefEriksen is a Nutrient Management Regional Specialist andprovides support to the nutrient management advisors and privateconsultants located in the western Maryland region. HeatherHutchinson is a Nutrient Management Specialist and is anintegral part of training and program development statewide.
