Family Consumer Sciences

Finance programming includes adult education on the elements of and family communications about personal and farm estate planning and on many basic personal finance topics such as budgeting, spending wisely, setting and working toward financial goals such as home ownership or retirement, avoiding fraud, protecting oneself from identity theft, repairing damaged credit, and numerous consumer rights and consumer advocacy issues.

Additionally, youth oriented programming is offered throughout the region in school-based assemblies that teach the importance of making saving money a habit and planning financially for the future. Students in grades PreK through 12, their teachers and their families are learning every day how to incorporate smart money lessons in the classroom and in their homes.
