
Welcome to Expanded Food and Nutrition Education Program(EFNEP)at the Prince George's County Cooperative Extension Office. EFNEP helps limited-income culturally diverse families acquire knowledge and skills to make healthful food choices, and to enhance self-esteem and personal development.

- Select foods during pregnancy and while breast-feeding & choose nutritious snack for children
- Lose weight sensibly & plan and prepare quick meals Educational programs are provided to childcare providers, school-age children, parents and older adults. Program encourage eating and exercise habits that promote good health and prevents chronic diseases. Although programs are available to all community groups, specific emphasis is placed on high-risk populations such as low-income citizens, pregnant and parenting teens, and food stamp and WIC recipients. A 4-lesson series on managing diabetes is offered in conjunction with the Prince George's County Health Department. Maryland Department of Health
Food Safety Programs emphasize practical steps that consumers can take to avoid food borne illness during the handling, storage, and preparation of food.
