Agriculture & Natural Resources objectives are to increase the knowledge and skills of Kent clientele. Resources are available from addressing livestock lagoon requirements to diagnosis of bacterial diseases in grain crops. Programs are being taught to improve management and decision-making skills to increase farm profitability.

Through the vision of John Hall, Chesapeake Fields Institute was incorporated and launched in 2000. Its mission is to strengthen the profitability of traditional agricultural markets for family farmers while conserving the region's natural and cultural resources. Several Kent County citizens have given freely of their time and talents for this initiative. The Long Term Outcomes Include: Social: Strengthen respect for and preservation of agricultural land. Economic: Improve the economic Profitability (viability) of our upper shore family farmers. Environmental: Build awareness that Agriculture is our preferred land use AND increase use of sustainable production methods among Upper Eastern Shore family farmers.
