MCE Volunteer Information

Who is a 4-H Volunteer?

A 4-H Volunteer is any adult or teen who works with a group of 4-H members. The adult volunteer has been screened and trained. Some volunteers help get a group organized. Adults and teens that teach members how to do things called "project leaders".

How do Parents help?

Many parents volunteer to be the organizing leader, while others become project or special activity leaders. Because people have different abilities and amounts of time, parents can offer help in ways that best meet their interest. 4-H is a family program and parents are encouraged to take an active role in the club and with the 4-Her at home.

Where Do You Learn to be a 4-H Volunteer?

You would receive much help from the Cooperative Extension, 4-H Office. Volunteers who have had experience working in the 4-H program will give you guidance as you begin to work. The 4-H Office will provide opportunities for training and workshops to increase your knowledge and specific interests in 4-H.
