2009 Baltimore County 4-H Camp

Around the World

Mark your calendars now for the 2009 Baltimore County Day Camp. This year’s camp will be held June 29th – July 3rd. Once again we will spend Monday – Thursday at Oregon Ridge Park and Friday at Genesee Valley Outdoor Learning center. We will have camping opportunities for youth ages 5 – 13 in one of three camping programs, Clover camp, Junior camp, and CIT (counselor in training) leadership camp. All three camps will be running at the same time and will offer many fun hands on activities in the beautiful surroundings of Oregon Ridge Park.  Registration will begin after January 1, for more information or to request a registration packet please contact the 4-H office at 410-666-1025 or email Dwayne Murphy at Dmurphy2@umd.edugroup shot

We are also still seeking teen and adult volunteers for the camping program, if you are interested please contact Dwayne Murphy.

Clover Camp

Clover camp is open to all youth ages 5 – 7.  The Clover program is a four day (June 29 – July 2) program running from 8:30 am – Noon at Oregon Ridge Lodge. Clover campers will enjoy daily nature walks, crafts, and games. Parents are welcome to stay but not required, space for this camp is limited.

Junior/Intermediate Camp

Junior / Intermediate camp is open to youth ages 8 – 11.  Campers will have the opportunity to pursue their favorite camp activities while learning about the diverse cultures from Around the World. Activities will include favorites such as Crafts and Nature Studies along with new activities including rocketry, survival, and many more. The week will conclude with a day at the Genesee Valley Outdoor Learning Center.

Counselor in Training, Leadership Camp

The leadership camp is open to youth ages 12 and 13. Along with traditional camp favorites leadership campers will also learn the basics of camp leadership and begin preparing to be future counselors of the Baltimore County 4-H camp. CIT’s will put their new skills to the test assisting with organizing and leading daily group activities.
