Agricultural Safety

Agriculture is one of the most dangerous industries in America.  Each year, needless injuries and deaths occur to farmers, family members, farm employees, and rescue personnel.

According to OSHA, farmworkers are at high risk for fatal and nonfatal injuries, work-related lung diseases, noise-induced hearing loss, skin diseases, and certain cancers associated with chemical use and prolonged sun exposure.1

UME Community Solutions Project:

National FARMEDIC Train-the trainer courses
  • provides rural fire/rescue responders with a systematic approach to farm rescue procedures that address the safety of both patients and responders.
