Leafhoppers are about 1/6 inch long, wedge-shaped, and light green in color. The nymphsare smaller and wingless. This pest sucks leaf sap and is usually found on leaf undersides. Feeding injury produces small light colored dots on leaves, known as stipples. Leaves turn yellow and may become distorted. the digestive juices of some species kills the tissue of certain plants resulting in the browning and curling of leaf tips and edges.
