Charles County Projects

As participants in the Maryland Master Gardener Program, volunteers seek and create opportunities to teach proper horticultural practices. They also emphasize gardening techniques developed to minimize adverse environmental impacts. By providing basic and up-to-date horticultural information to the public, volunteers help promote success in government, commercial, and home plantings as well as diminishing environmental degradation.

Visits to local schools, conducting plant clinics, and onsite plant inspections are some examples of activities conducted by volunteers as well as responding to requests for up-to-date information.

Past Charles County Master Gardener efforts to promote environmentally-friendly and successful plantings can be viewed by year by choosing one of the appropriate links to the left.

Charles County Master Gardeners work with a wide variety of organizations. Master Gardener volunteers spend many hours designing layouts, suggesting plant material, and guiding volunteers in soil preparation, plant care, and proper plant siting. If you or your organization in Charles County would like assistance in planting techniques, plant selection, or plant bed design, please do not hesitate to contact the Charles County Master Gardeners for assistance.
