There are many projects that are eligible for Master Gardener Volunteer Hours.
- Demonstration garden planning, creation and maintenance. Currently we have vegetable gardens, a herb garden, rain gardens, foundation plantings, a garden on Poplar Island and a historical garden.
- Provide answers to gardening questions. Plant Clinics are held in libraries, at farmer's markets, and during special events. Master Gardeners can also work at the office answering questions that brought or phoned in.
- Children's programs. Junior Master Gardener programs are held at various times during the year at preschools and elementary schools. Help is needed to plan, prepare and present the curriculum.
- Programs for those in retirement and assisted living communities. We presently offer programs at The Pines and Dixon House. Help is needed in planning, preparing and presenting the various programs.
- Workshops and classes. These are held frequently throughout the year at various locations around the county. Tell others about your favorite gardening interests.
- Bay-wise consultations and certifications. With additional training you can help your neighbors learn what they can do to improve the Chesapeake Bay.
- Newsletters. Help write, produce and send out our quarterly letters.
