Welcome to Kelly Patches, Agriculture Extension Educator, who started in our office Monday, September 25, 2017!
Kelly grew up on her family's dairy farm in Lebanon County, Pennsylvania. She received her Bachelor of Science degree in Soil Science with a minor in Agronomy from Penn State University. She continued on at Penn State to earn her Master of Science degree in Agronomy. Her thesis research was on controlling pokeweed in agronomic crops. After graduating, Kelly worked as an Agronomy Educator for Penn State Extension in Franklin County, where she conducted on-farm research, hosted farmer field days and meetings, and taught pesticide and nutrient management continuing education classes. In her current role in Frederick County, Kelly's focus will be on agronomy and small farms.

Matthew Morris, Agriculture Extension Educator

The University of Maryland Extension Frederick County Office welcomes Matt Morris as their new Extension Educator for Agriculture.  Matt is a resident of Burkittsville, MD.  He received his Bachelor of Science in Ag Science and Technology and Master of Science in Weed Science, both at the University of Maryland.  After school Matt worked with Willard Agri-Service in Frederick, MD and later at Stoney Castle Farm in Poolesville, MD.  In his new role, Matt will serve the needs of farmers, large and small, in Frederick County.
