Welcome to the University of Maryland Extension Healthy Homes Website

Welcome to the University of Maryland Extension Healthy Homes (UMEHH) website. The purpose of UMEHH site is to provide information to help serve Maryland’s citizens who face health hazards in the built environment including: toxic materials (lead, asbestos, pesticide and household products); dangerous gases (carbon monoxide and radon); hazards that cause and contribute to asthma (dust allergens, molds, and pests); and other safety and health concerns.

The website provides space to communicate availability of educational resources, curricula, and important public information related to Healthy Homes; be an outlet for Extension and UMCP-related research & evaluation findings; provide internal communication about training, conferences, grants, and publication opportunities; organize curricula and resource materials; and allow for input (i.e., needs assessment, user questionnaires, feedback, deliberative forum guide).

The UMEHH website is in development and holds promise to invite innovation and creativity among UME educators, specialists, UMCP faculty, and advisors/stakeholders. Take a look and provide us with feedback to make the website most useful for all of us.
