Topics: Pruning, apple diseases, pests & diseases of ornamentals, heirloom tomatoes, food preservation, ornamental ponds, invasive species, and an arboretum tour.

Please join University of Maryland Extension- Allegany and Garrett Counties, for a Horticulture Field Day on September 17, 2016 at Allegany College of Maryland.  You can customize your day of learning by choosing from eight different classes which will be offered during four sessions on two concurrent tracks. Topics include:  diagnosing common pests and diseases of ornamentals, pruning, economically significant apple diseases, invasive species, heirloom tomatoes, basic food preservation techniques, arboretum tour and tree identification, and installing ornamental ponds.  The cost to attend is $25 and includes lunch. Please dress appropriately for walking since several of our classes will take us outside onto the campus grounds.
