Learn how to safely preserve summer bounty at home while enjoying the fresh flavors of home cooked food. University of Maryland Extension is introducing three food preservation workshops on canning, drying, fermentation, freezing, and pickling. The workshop includes hands-on experience of different preservation methods with a product to take home.

The workshop is for anyone over age 18. However, kids (12yrs. and above) can attend the workshop with their parents or guardians.

You can also sign up during  workshop to buy the So Easy to Preserve book ($15) illustrating scientific methods and recipes of home food preservation.

Location:  124 North Main Street, Berlin, MD.

Dates

August 27th- Home Canning Jams, from 5.30pm-8.30pm, Cost: $20/person

August 28th- Drying herbs and freezing produce, from 5.30pm-8.30pm, Cost: $20/person

August 29th - Preserving pickles with fermentation and canning, from 5.30pm-8.30pm, Cost: $20/person

All three workshop discount- $55/person
