Frederick County will be one of several locations in a series of one-day workshops to be held throughout Maryland this February for farmers interested in learning about the problem of herbicide resistant weeds and how to manage them. Hosted by University of Maryland Extension in collaboration with Virginia Tech and University of Delaware, these workshops are designed to equip farmers with the knowledge to improve weed control on their farms.

The Herbicide Resistant Weeds Workshop will be held February 23rd at the Frederick County UME Office, 330 Montevue Lane, Frederick, MD 21702 from 8:00 a.m. to 12 p.m. Sessions will cover integrated weed management tactics, palmer amaranth, marestail control strategies, and new herbicide tolerance traits. This is a free workshop and lunch will be provided after the meeting. Pesticide and CCA continuing education credits will be offered.  REGISTRATION REQUIRED BY TUESDAY, FEBRUARY 20TH.
