Many of the activities related to aquaculture, aquatic plant and pond management, coastal land use and water quality are documented elsewhere in this report. Sea Grant Extension is also actively engaged and plays a leadership role within the Chesapeake Bay Program. Currently, Sea Grant Extension Program Leader, Doug Lipton, is Chair of the Scientific and Technical Advisory Committee for the Chesapeake Bay Program. Sea Grant is also leading an effort to develop ecosystem based fisheries management plans for Chesapeake Bay. Sea Grant Extension has also just been awarded $620,000 related to Emergency Disaster Relief funding for the crab processing industry in Maryland.
