Dr. DeMarsay joined Maryland Cooperative Extension in August 2006 as a Regional Extension Specialist in fruit pathology. Her assignment is 80% Extension (all fruit crops) and 20% applied research on grape and small fruit diseases. Her R&E program will focus initially on improving the management of fungal diseases of grapes and small fruit and evaluating the disease resistance of grape varieties under Maryland's growing conditions. Dr. DeMarsay received her Ph.D. in Plant Biology, with a concentration in plant pathology, from Rutgers University in 2005. She is an active member of the American Phytopathological Society.
