Garden Smart, Garden Easy Workshop

The Cecil County Master Gardeners hosted a “Garden Smart, Garden Easy” workshop on Saturday, June 13, 2015 from 9:00 a.m. until noon.  The workshop highlighted a program that was developed by the Master Gardeners of Sussex County.  This program is targeted to those who like to garden but may not have as much time to devote to the activity, and also those who like to garden but have physical limitations which make it difficult.

The workshop featured many tools and tips that can assist gardeners with physical limitations to continue to work in the garden, extending their active involvement in the gardening pastime.  One such tip is to design your garden based on your capabilities.  The Sussex County Master Gardeners presented their program which consists of a power point presentation and a demonstration of adaptive tools such as telescoping pruners, trowels with ergonomic handles and rolling tools.  There was time allotted for questions from the workshop attendees.  Program brochures and fact sheets were available to take home.
