Green Programming and Vermicomposting

The 4-H Vermicomposting programs offer youth the opportunity to explore a micro-community while learning green practices. Youth will learn about producers, consumers, decomposers while being encouraged to practice green habits in their everyday choices.

Activities include:

  • Developing a worm farm
  • Understand how important a worm’s “job” is
  • Identify other critters in the bin and harvest castings (Worm Poop!) for  your  garden
  • Green practices including MAEOE Green School requirements
