Fairs for 4-Hers

Baltimore County is very fortunate to have several fairs in which our 4-Hers can show their animals and exhibit their projects. The links below will take you to several local fairs. Registration for these fairs are on their respective websites.

Attention All Poultry Exhibitors

Testing requirements for 2013 poultry exhibited in fairs or shows have changed.  The policy can be found at the MDA website:  http://mda.maryland.gov/animalHealth/Pages/poultry.aspx.  All poultry except waterfowl, pigeons, and doves are required to have a negative Pullorum-Typhoid test with 90 days of exhibition.  If the poultry/waterfowl is housed in-state or out-of-state, the Avian Influenza testing may not be required.  PLEASE READ THE POLICY CAREFULLY.

If you plan to exhibit in the Poultry Department at the 2013 Baltimore County 4-H Fair, you are responsible for making arrangements to have the testing completed. This testing should occur in late May or early June.

You can contact Prudence Preston at 410-357-5002 or prupreston@comcast.net to arrange for testing.

REMINDER: All poultry exhibitors must have valid proof of a registered Maryland Poultry Premises ID Number and that number must be provided when completing your County Fair entries.  The above MDA link contains information on applying for an ID number.
