      Baltimore City Extension Advisory Board

Welcome and thank you for your interest in the Baltimore City Extension Advisory Council (Board), Inc. The main purpose of the Board is to give advisory support to University of Maryland Extension-Baltimore City through professional expertise, fundraising, advocacy, and marketing for its 5 programs: (1) 4-H Youth Development, (2) Financial Management, (3) Expanded Food & Nutrition Education Program (EFNEP), Food Supplement Nutrition Education (FSNE), and Urban Agriculture.

We are excited about the advancements in program outcomes and the new directions underway for the Board.  As President of the Board, I aim to set an agenda that not only continues to support Extension programs, but also to extend our support in innovative ways. In this vein, we are seeking to add to our ranks. We are happy to welcome new board members with diverse skills sets; in particular we are pursuing committed individuals who have expertise in grant writing, graphic design/editing, community development, finance, public relations/marketing, IT, research, and law.  These skills will further support the work of our 3 subcommittees: Programming, Fundraising, and Marketing. The general Board meets once a month and the committees meet as needed.

Our main goals for FY ’17 are to shore up our brand and to execute our inaugural gala event. Please consider joining a dynamic board that is passionate about making a difference in the lives of youth and families that we serve throughout Baltimore.
